Makita has incorporated Star Protection Computer Controls to enhance tool performance and prolong battery life. This innovative communication technology enables the tool and battery to exchange data in real time, monitoring conditions during use to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.

For added versatility, the XNB01Z is compatible with Makita 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries featuring the star symbol, indicating the presence of Star Protection. It features a 2-mode selector switch for sequential or contact nailing operation, with a net weight of 7.7 pounds (including the battery).
