The Makita 18V LXT® Brushless ½” Right Angle Drill (XAD05Z, tool only) offers cordless convenience with exceptional drilling speed. Designed for demanding tasks, the XAD05Z can tackle drilling up to 5” holes with hole saws and 2-9/16” holes with self-feed bits. It comes equipped with a range of features to enhance drilling efficiency and speed.
Powered by a brushless motor and two-speed transmission, the XAD05 reaches no-load speeds of 0-450 RPM and 0-1,400 RPM. Users can expect long run times, with the ability to complete up to 105 1-1/2" holes on a single charge in 2x SPF lumber using an 18V LXT 5.0Ah Battery and self-feed bit (sold separately). Additional features include a durable metal gear housing, an electric brake for increased productivity, and dual L.E.D. lights for improved visibility while working.
The tool also includes a side handle that can be attached to either side for added versatility. As part of the LXT® System, the drill is compatible with a wide range of cordless tools, equipment, and accessories powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries. Makita's innovative motors, battery technology, and communication systems work together to deliver optimal performance and efficiency.
To enhance tool performance and battery lifespan, Makita integrated Star Protection Computer Controls™ into their products. This communication technology allows the tool and battery to exchange data in real time, monitoring conditions during use to prevent overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. Look for the star symbol on Makita® 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Batteries to ensure they are equipped with Star Protection.
Weighing only 7.6 lbs. with battery and featuring a slim barrel design, the drill reduces operator fatigue during extended use. It can drill up to 200 7/8" holes in 2X SPF with a 5.0Ah battery (battery and bit not included). The built-in L.E.D light with pre-glow and afterglow further illuminates the work area for improved visibility.
