Makita XOC02Z 18V Cordless Cut-Out Tool, AWS™ Capable, Tool Only

The powerful and efficient 18V LXT Brushless Cordless Cut-Out Tool (XOC02Z, tool only) is the perfect solution for drywall contractors. Featuring a Makita-built BL Brushless motor, this tool delivers an impressive 32,000 RPM for quick and precise cutting, offering the performance and power of a corded tool without the inconvenience of a cord. With a large cutting capacity, it can easily cut through 2 layers of drywall.

The XOC02Z is equipped with built-in twin L.E.D. lights to brightly illuminate the work area, as well as vent slots that direct air and debris away from the operator for a cleaner workspace. It also features a soft start function for smoother start-ups, an electric brake for maximum productivity, and accepts both 1/8” and ¼” bits. The tool has a conveniently located shaft lock button for quick bit changes, eliminating the need for a wrench.

For added convenience, on-board bit change capabilities and tool-less depth adjustments make this tool easy to use. Additionally, the XOC02Z is AWS-capable with the Auto-Start Wireless Transmitter (198901-5, sold separately) for efficient dust extraction. The Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS) utilizes Bluetooth technology for wireless power-on/off communication between the tool and optional dust extractor.

The XOC02Z also features Extreme Protection Technology (XPT), a protective seal inside the tool that enhances its operation in harsh conditions by redirecting water and dust away from critical internal components. This tool is part of Makita’s extensive 18V LXT System, the largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion batteries. Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries are known for their quick charge times, allowing for more time spent working and less time waiting for batteries to charge.

To ensure improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita has incorporated Star Protection Computer Controls™ into this tool. Star Protection is a communication technology that enables real-time data exchange between the tool and battery to monitor conditions during use, protecting against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. For versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Batteries with the star symbol indicating Star Protection inside.
