Featuring an ergonomically designed barrel grip that allows for more accurate cuts closer to the work surface, the XVJ05Z also offers 3 orbital settings plus straight cutting for quicker and more precise cuts in various materials. The variable 5-speed control dial (800-3,000 SPM) enables users to customize the speed to suit the task at hand.

The efficient brushless motor is electronically controlled to maximize battery energy usage, resulting in up to 50% longer run time per charge compared to non-brushless tools. With no carbon brushes, the brushless motor operates cooler and more efficiently, ensuring a longer service life.

Convenience features include a tool-less blade change system for quick blade installation and removal, an On/Off button with a separate lock button for workpiece protection, and dual L.E.D. lights to illuminate the work area. The base can be beveled and locked from 0° to 45° left or right for precise bevel cuts. Weighing only 5.0 lbs. with an 18V LXT® 5.0Ah battery (sold separately), the XVJ05Z is part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT System powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries.
